So I Looked It Up is an independent curiosity publication for questions that got out of hand.

We publish research-led rabbit holes across science, mind and behaviour, strange claims, history, technology and whatever else turns out to be worth looking up.

What we are trying to do

Start with an interesting question. Find the strongest sources available. Separate what is established from what is plausible or unknown. Say when the evidence is messy. Link readers to the material underneath the story.

So I Looked It Up is independently published and edited in the United Kingdom. The publication is not affiliated with the organisations whose research or guidance it cites.
