This policy explains the current use of cookies and similar storage or access technologies on So I Looked It Up.
Current launch configuration
The public site does not currently use visitor analytics, advertising tags, personalisation, newsletter tracking, or embedded social-media scripts. No non-essential visitor tracking has been enabled.
Strictly necessary technologies
WordPress and IONOS may use strictly necessary technologies where required for service security, integrity, administration or authentication. Administrator login cookies are used only for authorised site management. These technologies are not used by So I Looked It Up for behavioural advertising or visitor profiling.
External links and share buttons
Article share controls are ordinary links. They do not load Facebook, X, LinkedIn or other social-platform scripts on this site. If you choose a link, the destination service may use cookies under its own policy.
Consent controls
Because non-essential visitor tracking is not active at launch, the site does not currently display a consent banner. Before analytics, advertising or another non-essential technology is enabled, the cookie inventory and this policy will be updated and the appropriate consent controls will be configured before those technologies load.
If personalised Google publisher advertising is introduced for UK or EEA visitors, it will not be enabled until a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework is configured.
Changes to this policy
The date above records the latest material update. This page will be updated when the site’s technology or providers change.
